A Trustworthy Fiduciary

Ted has a unique background that qualifies him for trust and estate management. He graduated from college with a bachelor of science degree in applied management. With the aid of investors, he started a residential construction company at age 21. The following year, he founded his own real estate brokerage firm. By age 30, he was recruited to work for the world’s largest fraternal benefit company selling financial products. He was a licensed real estate broker and insurance and securities agent.

At age 32, he was appointed to serve as personal representative of his father’s estate. The estate owned major interests in more than 30 companies that employed over 1500 people. The decedent had guaranteed most of the debt of the various entities. Within eight years, Ted engaged 30 different attorneys in seven states, and he resolved fifty-nine lawsuits (all but one remained out of court). He weathered multiple state and federal audits with positive results.

The estate’s primary law firm questioned whether the estate would be solvent enough to cover administrative fees, let alone pay off creditors or provide for the beneficiaries. Ted set aside his advancing financial services career to manage the estate’s interests full-time. By meeting with creditors face-to-face, he demonstrated that he could operate the companies responsibly until the estate’s interests could be liquidated or its debts paid. He met with partners and other shareholders to make governance decisions. He not only earned enough to pay all administrative costs, but he also satisfied the claims of sixty creditors and paid out an inheritance to the beneficiaries.

Ted has since served as a fiduciary for several other estates and trusts. His background includes real estate, financial services, governance, marketing, and human resources. Ted’s years of conciliation work equipped him for resolving complex conflicts and reconciling relationships. Speaking and writing internationally have given him perspectives to function successfully with differing cultures, languages, and other outside influences.

Ted understands the unique role of a fiduciary, and he is also experienced in business administration and conciliation. By reporting regularly to creditors, partners, and beneficiaries, he earns the trust of those he serves and works with.
